Prudential plc ceases talks with The Equitable Life Assurance Society

The Board of Prudential plc announces that it has ceased discussions with The Equitable in connection with the potential acquisition of The Equitable by Prudential plc. After detailed consideration, the Board of Prudential plc has concluded that it is not in the interests of either its shareholders or policyholders to proceed with a transaction.
