Group Public Affairs

EU Public Affairs

Background

The role of EU Public Affairs and Policy Development is to ensure Prudential plc is well-positioned within the regulatory and policy community of Brussels to influence developments. This work involves analysing impending legislation and policy developments at EU level, advising the Group’s business, developing strategic objectives and group policy positions and lobbying across all key external audiences.

Our lobbying activity covers all the European institutions, UK Government, as well as European and UK trade associations and think tanks.

European financial services legislation has an increasing influence outside the European Union, so by drawing on our considerable expertise and experience, we also seek to influence international issues, including policy dialogues, such as the EU-US, and more recently established EU-China and EU-India bilateral discussions.
